Donor Spotlight: Onex, Inc.
The Forging Industry Educational & Research Foundation (FIERF) would like to recognize one of our Bronze Anvil Society Donors, Onex, Inc.
Onex, Inc. is an employee owned and women led company in Erie, PA. Established in 1966, Onex, Inc. served the foundry industry through refractory distribution. Over the years, Onex has become an industrial furnace maintenance company serving primarily the forge industry across the U.S.A. In addition to maintaining clients’ equipment, Onex designs and manufacturers new industrial furnaces.
Onex has been an active member of the Forging Industry Association since 2008 and a contributor to the Forging Foundation since 2019. Onex gives to support general FIERF programming and the Women’s Scholarship. Ashleigh Walters, President of Onex, Inc. is the current Vice President of the Forging Foundation’s Board of Trustees and is also the current Committee Chair for the Women’s Scholarship Selection Committee.
Outside of the organization, Ashleigh donates personally to the Women’s Scholarship. A scholarship that is awarded to women seeking degrees in engineering or business. When asked why they give, Ashleigh Walters responded “Onex donates to FIERF because we believe the way to recruit talented people to the industry is through experience and exposure to all the cool ways forging makes the world go round.”
We couldn’t agree more! Thank you, Onex, and Ashleigh Walters for your generosity and continued support of the Forging Foundation! Consider a gift of support of your own. Contact Amanda Dureiko at [email protected] if you are interested in inspiring the next generation of forgers!
