Technology & Workforce Development Summit at Case Western Reserve University
Forging industry producers and suppliers met with representatives from Case Western Reserve and Cleveland State University to find ways to bolster relationships, hire students and find research partnerships on April 4th.
New FIERF Magnet School Professors Chris Yuan, Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, at Case and Tushar Borkar in the Mechanical Engineering Department of Cleveland State University shared with participants ways to become engaged with students through plant tours, course presentations and more.
Following a roundtable discussion of ideas on how best the Forging Foundation can facilitate curriculum and student interactions with industry, the group got recruiting tips from Drew Poppleton of the CWRU Career Center and toured Professor John Lewandowski’s Advanced Manufacturing and Mechanical Reliability Center that has hot, warm and cold forming research capabilities for forging research and ThinkBox.
